Gregson was impressed with the fitness and quality of his players in the first half as headers from Harry Holland and Lewis Barker put the Reds into a 2-0 lead at Creasey Park.
Following a number of changes, the home side improved after the break and halved the deficit shortly after a Luke Gregson penalty miss to make things interesting in the closing stages. Baldock held on though to chalk up their first win of pre-season.
Whilst the majority of last season's squad were involved, there were some interesting inclusions with Nicky Stilwell in goal. The Reds most capped player was called in at late notice due to the unavailability of last season's ever present Jack Farmer. Elliot Powell, last season's Reserve Team Players Player and Managers Player, also featured. Former players Connor Gray and Jay Duguid also played.
Squad: Stilwell, Furness, Coppin, Gilbert, Cook, J.Gregson, Barker, L.Gregson, Holland, James, Robertson, Robinson, Duguid, Gray, Powell

OTHER CLUB NEWS
The SSML Division One fixtures for the new season will be released tomorrow (20th July). There has been a bit furore about the Division's line up since the AGM with New Bradwell St Peter relegated on grading grounds, Arlesey Town Reserves reinstated on appeal against their relegation and Amersham Town demoted again after being placed in Division One despite finishing 12th in Division Two last season. It appears all those issues have now been ironed out, so the division will run with 21 teams this term:
Ampthill Town, Arlesey Town Reserves, Baldock Town, Bedford, Biggleswade, Brimsdown, Broadfields United, Buckingham Athletic, Chesham United Res, Codicote, Hadley Wood & Wingate, Harefield United, Harpenden Town, Hatfield Town, Hillingdon Borough, Kensington Borough, Langford, Risborough Rangers, Southall, Winslow United, Wodson Park
Bedford and Harefield United join us following relegation from the Premier Division. Biggleswade I understand are a former u18 side of Biggleswade Town, but are now a separate club in their own right, but will play at Biggleswade Town FC. Hadley Wood & Wingate are promoted from the Herts Senior County League, whilst Kensington Borough is the new name for AFC Hillgate who are promoted from Division Two.
Details of the season's fixtures will be released on the website and our social media channels when known.
