New season, New management, New venue!
The Reds kick off their third Spartan South Midlands League campaign with the visit of Hillingdon Borough to Roker Park (Stotfold FC) on Saturday afternoon - 3pm Kick off.
Luke Gregson takes charge of his first competitive fixture as Town manager and speaking to The Comet recently, he had this to say "We've done really well in pre-season and although results haven't gone our way the most important thing is that we've played some really good football."
Town have lost narrowly to three Southern League opponents in pre-season, but they rounded off their preparations with a comfortable 4-1 win over Raunds Town Reserves at the North Herts Arena last Saturday.
Saturday's opponents were relegated from the Premier Division last season and under a new manager themselves, will be looking to bounce back straight away. Both teams have not yet met previously.
Baldock's opening day record is very good with eight wins and two draws from twelve encounters since their reformation in 2003. Their last opening day defeat came in Scott Grant's first competitive fixture in charge - a 1-0 home defeat to Cuffley back in 2010.
The club are hoping some good weather, a new season, new venue and new management will bring some specators along, so please do get along support Luke and the players if you can.
