After the best part of a fortnight’s break, (well 13 days to be precise since we beat Leighton Town at home), Baldock Town get their 2019 campaign underway with a southward trip this Saturday to face London Tigers in a League fixture.
After ending 2018 in a respectable 10th place in the table and winning 5 matches on the bounce, the Reds have since slipped down to 13th after missing a fixture last week (our intended opponents Biggleswade FC were apparently busy winning an FA Vase tie against our old friends Stowmarket Town). However we still have a number of games in hand against most of those around us and we go into the New Year in a very positive frame of mind.
Meanwhile the Tigers have experienced something of a struggle this season currently finding themselves in 18th position in the table with a record of P20 – W5 – D2 – L13 with a total of 17 points. Their recent record has not been the best losing their previous 4 matches, until impressively winning 3-0 at North Greenford United last Saturday.
So far this season in their 8 matches at home they have won 2 and lost 6, with wins coming against Stotfold in a League match, and Hadley in a Premier Division Cup tie (after a penalty shootout).
