Baldock Town announce their plan to bring senior football back to Baldock. An interview with Graham Kingham, Chairman, by John Graham, Fan.

I recently had the opportunity to chat with our Chairman, Graham Kingham, about his vision and plans for Baldock Town football club. Having been involved in two previous attempts to bring Baldock Town home I find Graham’s plans tremendously exciting. Graham has a clear vision and plan and, critically, is at an advanced stage as he also has the drawings and scheme that show what it will look like (see the attached plan).
I asked Graham about his plans and he said:

“The long-term vision for the club is to have our own ground back in Baldock and to this end we have submitted revised plans to the district council. I have been informed that the proposed land, once approved for recreational use in September/October, will need to be sent out for tender. However, I would be surprised if anyone can come up with a better use of the land than our current proposals. If we are successful with our tender the land would be signed over to the club on a 99-year lease hopefully in early 2020, I will keep everyone informed as and when I get any further news”.

This is a tremendous achievement, I know how difficult it is to even get this far. What we need to do now is to get behind Graham and the BTFC committee and help deliver this fantastic facility. A copy of the planned ground and surrounding facilities is attached. If you want to help or can offer professional or financial support then please get in touch. These opportunities don’t come around to often and we need to make this one work.
