Excellent draw against a Step 4 side

Baldock kicked off the preparation for a new season with a new look team under their new Manager, Adam Fisher.
Northwood are a good side from the Isthmian League and this was always going to be a good test in demanding conditions, hot day, plastic pitch, but Baldock didn’t look out of place at all. Josh Furness led the team in what was his ‘umpteenth’ start (still trying to work out how many). In a team with a lot new faces their were some great individual performances but some great teamwork as well and which only got better as the game went on.
Baldock went one down after ten minutes but immediately equalised one minute later with a fine strike from outside the box by Curtis Finch, a promising teenager now signed for the season. The Manager later commented that he is one of the most naturally talented teenagers he had seen at this level.
Baldock made quite a few changes for the second half, as did Northwood to be fair, but Baldock looked the stronger side by the end.
An encouraging start, looking forward to the next match against Shefford Campton (Tues 16th July) at KTS Sports Centre.
