Baldock Bounce Back After an Early Shock!

Baldock Bounce Back After an Early Shock!
In a tricky looking Spartan South Midlands League Challenge Trophy away tie at 2nd Division Pitstone & Ivinghoe, Baldock Town eventually ran out as comfortable winners, but not without suffering an early Halloween fright!

With a few team changes being made from last Saturday’s defeat at Hadley, after only 13 minutes the Reds found themselves a goal behind when prolific Pitstone marksman Albie Hall scored and suddenly what appeared to be a straightforward task on paper began to look rather complicated. The unlikely advantage lasted until 3 minutes before half-time when Kim Forsythe was on hand to claim an equaliser and at the break there was still everything for both sides to play for.

But the match completely turned around in a 2 minute period soon after the interval when Forsythe again and Josh Furness both found the net to put some distance between the two teams. Further goals from Lewis Barker and Kieran Barnes put a comfortable look on the final score securing safe passage for the Reds into the 3rd Round.

Baldock Town: Harpur, M Lee ©, Joy, Gilbert, Priestner, Brooks (L Lee), Barnes, L Barker, Ngwala (Holland), Forsythe (Bull), Furness. Unused subs: Robertson, Farmer (GK).

Scorers: Forsythe (2), Furness, L Barker, Barnes.
Att: 50
