MATCH REPORT: BALDOCK TOWN 3 COLNEY HEATH 2 - Premier Division Cup 1st Round

Baldock Town progress through to the next round of the Premier Division Cup with both teams playing the 2nd half with 10 men.

The visitors took the lead in the 17th minute when Adam Harpur in the home team’s goal, could not hold on to a Charlie Hunter free-kick and Greg Shaw was on hand to bundle the ball over the line.

The lead was only held for 9 minutes however when Sean Brettell got onto an Owen Robertson cross putting the scores level.

Just before half-time, Kieran Barnes was pushed in the box by visiting defender Callum Dudrenec causing the referee to point to the spot and in the ensuing melee, both Dudrenec and Kim Forsythe were shown red cards for violent conduct. Barnes slotted home the kick sending the Reds into the break with a 2-1 lead.

On the hour mark, Baldock Town were awarded another spot-kick when Lewis Barker was felled by the Magpies Josh Humbert, giving Kieran Barnes the opportunity to double his goal tally for the evening to which he duly obliged.

Colney Heath got one back from Jack Woods with 10 minutes to go and Baldock weathered a late storm to get the deserved win.
