After a couple of cup fixtures, on Saturday Baldock Town return to the bread and butter of the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division with the visit of our near neighbours Stotfold to the New Lamb Meadow.

To say this season has been difficult for the Eagles is maybe something of an understatement. They currently lie at the foot of the table with only 4 draws from 18 matches bringing 4 points to their tally. I have to say that this record does surprise me somewhat as I saw them play earlier in the season and thought they weren’t at all a bad side (certainly not the worst I have seen this season!).

Recently they have been going down by an odd goal here and there and you do wonder if they could get a win under their belts, they may well be a different proposition. However, is being 9 points adrift at the bottom of the table, at this stage of the season, an irreparable position? We will have to see, but in all honesty, it does seem pretty desperate.
