This coming Sunday (yes, that’s correct, Sunday), the Reds welcome Stanway Rovers to the New Lamb Meadow for a Buildbase FA Vase 2nd Qualifying Round tie. Rovers are members of the Essex Senior League and play their home matches at the Hawthorns (no, not the one in West Bromwich!).

After a not too promising start to their League campaign, Stanway come here on the back of an impressive victory in the 1st Qualifying round where they came out on top against Eastern Counties League Division One South outfit White Ensign, winning 4-2. This game had to be replayed after a serious injury to an Ensign player caused an 80th minute abandonment of the first tie, with Rovers leading at the time 2-1.

In their most recent fixture last Tuesday evening, Rovers went down 4-2 away to Stansted FC in a closely fought Essex Senior Cup tie.

Please note that the previously scheduled away League match at Stotfold on Saturday has been postponed until a later date.
