Saturday 13th October 2018 - MATCH PREVIEW

This coming Saturday is Non-League Day and Baldock Town are at home in an FA Vase 1st Round proper tie to Spartan South Midlands Division One Brimsdown FC.

Brimsdown FC was established in 2013 and since that time have had a somewhat nomadic existence. Originally playing at different grounds in the Enfield area, they moved to share Haringey Borough’s Coles Park in 2016 and this season share Ware FC’s ground at Wodson Park.

They are currently in a mid-table 10th position in Division One, having a record of P10 W4 D0 L6 with 12 points. So far this season they have won on the road at both Buckingham Town (3-0) and Rayners Lane (3-1), but more recently suffered a heavy defeat at league leaders Harefield United (1-5).

In the 2nd Round Qualifying of the FA Vase, they received a home walkover against Bicester Town who withdrew from the competition after resigning from the Hellenic League.

Strangely their last three fixtures have all been against Langford. They suffered home and away 0-3 league defeats, followed by a 0-2 reverse in the Division One Cup last Tuesday evening. I would imagine both sets of players were pretty fed up with each other by the end of those 3 matches!

In our last three home fixtures against Brimsdown we have a good record. Most recently in April of this year we won 3-0 with goals from Lewis Barker, Josh Coley and Josh Furness. The previous season in February 2017 we won by an only goal with Anthony James on target and back in the 2015-16 season, two Luke Hennessy goals helped us to a 2-1 victory. Manager Luke Gregson may have mixed memories of that evening at Roker Park, as he was shown a red card!
