Town Progress to League Cup Semi-Final!

Baldock Town managed to avoid a banana-skin with victory over MK Gallacticos to secure a League Cup Semi-Final berth.

2nd Division Gallacticos were forced to move the fixture away from their North Furzton Sports Ground home due to the pitch being unfit after recent rain, playing the match on a 3G surface at MK Sport Central. But after seeing off Premier Division sides Stotfold and Biggleswade FC away from home in previous rounds, this was obviously not seen as a disadvantage by the previous giantkillers.

The Reds made 4 changes from the side that went down to Potton United last week with Jack Farmer coming back in goal and returns to the starting line-up for Charlie Hayford, Harry Holland and Daril Ngwala.

Baldock took the lead after half an hour when Kieran Barnes found the net, taking his tally as top scorer up to 9 for the season. This lead was doubled 8 minutes later through Charlie Hayford and at the break, a difficult tie was seemingly looking a lot easier with a 2-0 advantage.

Within 3 minutes of the re-start, the Gallacticos were dealt the fatal blow with Owen Robertson scoring a 3rd and for the remainder of the match, Baldock were totally in charge seeing out the tie at something of a canter.

For the last few minutes of the match the Reds had Manager Luke Gregson, his assistant Dean Gilbert and Coach Jim Starling, all out on the pitch, obviously giving an example to everyone on how it should be done!

Baldock Town stay in cup football mode this Tuesday (11th) evening with a trip to London Colney for a Premier Division Cup semi-final tie.
