REDS EXTEND WINNING RUN!

Baldock Town extended their winning run to six matches on the bounce with a comprehensive victory against London Tigers at Northwood FC’s Chestnut Avenue ground.

With Charlie Joy replacing Charlie Hayford from the side that beat Leighton Town at home two weeks earlier, the Reds also welcomed Alex Coppin back to the fold, returning to the bench after injury along with new signing Ashley Denniss,

London Tigers took an early lead through Ardalan Ghamuar, only to find their advantage pegged back on 15 minutes when Robbie Buchanan tapped in a Russell Bull header across goal.

Soon afterwards it was 2-1 when Lewis Barker got on the end of a Bull shot across the penalty box, bundling home the ball.

Four minutes before the break Baldock scored a third when Kim Forsythe received a ball on the left hand side which he superbly looped over the keeper from 30 yards.

With a healthy 3-1 lead at the half-time interval, the 2nd period was quieter on scoring action than its predecessor. On 80 minutes Sam James was replaced by the returning Alex Coppin and 5 minutes later Ashley Denniss came on to make his debut in a Red shirt. A minute later his first touch was to score Baldock’s 4th goal, confirming the points would be returning to North Hertfordshire.

With this victory Baldock Town rise to 12th in the table, still with games in hand. The next match will be on Saturday 19th January when the Magpies of Colney Heath FC visit the New Lamb Meadow for a League fixture, KO 3pm.
