Two second half strikes in 5 minutes by Kieran Barnes secured the points for the Reds in this SSML Premier encounter at the New Lamb Meadow. Indeed, if not for hitting the side netting earlier in the 2nd period, he could well have been taking the ball home with him after an impressive display.

On 54 minutes after an assist from Myles Lee, Barnes found the net after Wares keeper Ellingham could only get his fingertips on the ball and it looped into the net. 5 minutes later Barnes doubled the advantage when racing onto a long ball, rounding the keeper and slotting home.

As the game progressed, Baldock totally dominated and could have extended their lead, but in the end it was a comfortable confidence building performance in readiness for 3 upcoming straight away league fixtures.
