A Message to all BTFC Supporters

By Mike Godfrey

Attention all Red Army troops, would you please take just a few minutes to read our request?

We here at Baldock Town FC are always on the lookout for volunteers to help out on matchdays. Be it just on an occasional basis or more regularly, the lifeblood of a club such as ours are the people who are prepared to get involved and help out. From helping with producing online match programmes, to operating the turnstiles and/or becoming a match steward, becoming our tannoy team announcer (I quite fancy having a go at that, but Mrs G keeps telling me I would have to delete the odd expletive or three!). Or possibly getting involved with social media, tweeting match updates or even just retrieving the ball after those muppets on the pitch keep booting it over the fence – WE NEED YOUR HELP!

If you could give up some of your time then please contact Pinky at

When it comes to this website, we would like to make it something slightly different to the rest. Most club websites give club news, match previews, reports and team statistics, and we fully intend to continue to provide all this vital information, but we want more. We want your input. What else would you like to see here at

Do you have an opinion that you consider needs to be aired to the greater BTFC supporting community? It doesn’t need to be directly about the club, it could be about non-league football in general, the Premier League, England’s chances in the next Euro championships or even whether Gary Lineker looks silly with his goatee! Maybe you want to know the latest news on the club’s attempts to move back home to Baldock or you think you could write a far better match report than I do (not exactly difficult I can assure you). Well please give it a go – we would love the extra input.

If you would like to write about any football related matter for posting here on the website, then please go ahead and email it to me at

There is no forum as such on the website at the moment, although there is the facility to set one up. Would you like to see this platform created for you to air your views? Would there be enough interest to keep debate flowing and/or would you be interested in becoming a forum moderator maybe?

Do you have any other website ideas? If so please let me know.

Thanks for reading.
